Emulsion “SE-50/12” is represented as an aqueous emulsion of oligodimethylhydrosiloxan. It is intended for finishing and water-repelling treatment processing of various materials, including fiberglass and mineral wool products, treated by phenol-formaldehyde resin.

Application
The emulsion “SE-50/12” or mix of the emulsion “SE-50/12” and the emulsion “ME-50/42” is applied jointly with binder by sputtering technique. The amount of the emulsion “SE-50/12” or mix of the emulsion “SE-50/12” and the emulsion “ME-50/42” that applied is depended on demanding water-repellent properties of final product, therefore general recommendation doesn’t give. To quantify the product it is necessary to carry out individual tests. In many cases it is enough to use no less than 0,2% of the emulsion “SE-50/12” or 0,6-1,2 % of mix of the emulsion “SE-50/12” and the emulsion “ME-50/42” from weight of dry fibrous material.

Applications
For the purpose of giving water-repellent properties for glass fiber mats or mats from silicate cotton the emulsion “SE-50/12” is mixed with solution of phenol-aldehyde resin and other additives.
If it is necessary, except to achieve water-repellent action, to prevent the formation of fine-dispersed dust in the production of glass fiber mats or mats from silicate cotton, it should be used the emulsion “SE-50/12” mixed with the emulsion “ME-50/42”. Mixing ratio is 1 party by weight of the emulsion “SE-50/12” on 3-5 parties by weight of the emulsion “ME-50/42”. In this case the mix of emulsions is also mixed with a solution of phenol-aldehyde resin and other additives.
As shelf life of various composite materials depends to a large extent on composition of phenol-aldehyde resin and additives, it is impossible to give a general reference concerning their compatibility.
The emulsion “SE-50/12” or mix of the emulsion “SE-50/12” and the emulsion “ME-50/42” is used jointly with application of binder.
Treatment of glass wool and silicate cotton by the emulsion “ME-50/42” or by mix of the emulsion “SE-50/12” and the emulsion “ME-50/42” after drying and hardening is deprecated.
Shelf life
Storage life of the emulsion “SE-50/12” is 6 months from manufacture date. It should keep at a temperature from 5 °С to 30 °С in hermetically closed container of manufacturer in closed cellarage, protect they from ingress of moisture and influence of direct sunbeams, in the distance form heaters and also from capacities with strong oxidizing agents, strong alkalis and acids.
A consumer can self-determined use the product after termination of warranty shelf life after conformance inspection of quality in accord with requirements of specs “Water-repellent Emulsions”, the specs of Ukraine 24.6-33444644-014:2010.
